Claudia and Blake ~ 04/10/24
Let’s go back to where it all began. When and how did you meet your significant other?
Blake and I first met back in 2019. We had heard of each other through mutual friends but never yet met. Blake decided to message me out of the blue and asked me out on a date. To which I responded “no”. However, after a few weeks of back and forth messaging I decided to give him a chance and we have been inseparable ever since.
How did your now-husband propose?
Was there a theme for your wedding? What inspired you while styling your dream day?
The theme for our wedding was timeless elegance. I wanted to achieve a style that was classic and romantic which we could look back on in 10 years and still love. We were lucky enough to work with The Romantics Weddings who helped bring our vision to life.
What was the inspiration behind your bridal look?
My inspiration behind my bridal look was similar to the wedding style. I wanted a dress that was elegant yet romantic and something that wasn’t going to date over time. I knew I wanted something off the shoulder and with a hidden slit detail.
Describe your ‘yes to the dress’ moment. How did you feel in that moment and what made you say ‘yes’ to the Vera gown?
That day and moment was so special. I flew to Sydney for the appointment and took my 2 best friends with me. ‘Vera’ was our first choice and the dress we kept coming back to. The fact that I was able to customize the dress to make it exactly how I wanted was such a fun and exciting process. There was lots of champagne and tears and it’s still one of my favourite days of the whole wedding journey.
How did you feel wearing your gown on your wedding day?
I felt incredible wearing my wedding gown. It was everything I had hoped for and I truly felt like a princess of the day. Not only was the dress everything I had envisioned but it was also really comfortable which was an added bonus!
What was the highlight of your special day?
There were so many! Getting ready with my girls, my Dad walking me down the aisle, seeing Blake for the first time. I think the best moment of the day was our entry into the reception. There was so much love and energy in the room and we just felt so lucky to be surrounded by all of our closest family and friends. It was a dream come true.
If you could go back in time and give your newly-engaged self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Enjoy every single moment of the whole process. From the planning stages right through to the wedding day itself. It goes by so fast and it's such a special time with so many moments to celebrate along the way.
