After meeting at work and falling in love, Alyssa and David tied the knot on June 8th 2024 surrounded by their closest family and friends. We sat down with our Melbourne Real Bride, Alyssa to learn more about her Winter Wonderland themed wedding, customising her dream 'Aspen' gown, and more.

Was there a theme for your wedding? What inspired you while styling your dream day?

The theme was ‘Winter Wonderland’ as we always wanted to plan our wedding for the colder months. The styling was simple yet elegant. For the colour scheme, we went with soft, cool tones to match the theme. We got a lot of our ideas from Pinterest and of course from our amazing wedding coordinator and stylist; Together Weddings.

What was the inspiration behind your bridal look?

I have always been a fan of Disney Princesses. Wearing an A-line gown or ball gown on my wedding day has always been a dream of mine, and it also matched our ‘Winter Wonderland’ theme perfectly.

Describe your ‘yes to the dress’ moment. How did you feel and what made you say ‘yes’?

I tried on 10 different dresses in multiple different boutiques. But I chose the Aspen gown at Eternal Bridal Melbourne because of how it fitted my waist and complimented my silhouette. I also love the intricate and beautiful florals. The material of the dress was so comfortable to wear all day long and I was so glad that my stylist suggested customising my dress to an off-the-shoulder neckline and making the train longer. These details really completed the whole look.

I was not sure about my decision when I initially said yes to the dress. I kept questioning myself on whether it was THE ONE. I was also nervous about the customisations. But the moment I tried it on for the first time again, I got teary-eyed - happy tears of course! It was perfect.

What was the highlight of your special day?

The highlight for me was our reception. Seeing all our special people who came from various parts of the world to join us and celebrate our special day was heartwarming.

If you could give your newly engaged self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Do not rush in finding the perfect dress and check which suppliers can really help you achieve your dream wedding.
