Emily and Zoe said yes to forever in the beautiful scenery of Bendooley Estate.
We invited her to share her lovely journey of wedding dress hunting and she happily spoke about her experience with Le Lee Studio at Eternal Bridal.
How did you first hear about Le Lee Studio?
I hadn’t heard about Le Lee until my appointment at Eternal Bridal. The range was so beautiful and whimsical and had so many styles to suit different types of brides. And the fact that she is an Australian designer was very important as me and my family love support Australian owned and run businesses.
Describe the moment you found the dress.
This moment actually took me two appointments. The first time I came we loved the detailing of the Sage dress and the way the A Line sat with the stiffer fabric. By this point of dress shopping I was starting to find the features I loved in a dress and Sage was almost all of them, the top just didn’t suit my figure. Luckily the designer was open to alterations to make my dream dress. I had one more appointment scheduled with another store and needed to go and see their dresses before making a commitment. There was just nothing that compared to Sage but I found the neckline that I loved. I returned to Eternal to try the dress on again and discuss the alterations and they could do exactly what I was after. Seeing myself from afar in the mirror and seeing my mum tear up I just couldn’t go past it. Even though it was a gamble saying yes to a dress that I hadn’t seen I had so much trust in the Eternal Bridal team and the designer and gosh did they deliver. So special trying on my dress once it had been made, it was such a special moment to share with everyone.
What specific features/aspects about the gown made you say yes to it?
I loved the delicate flower detailings that almost looked like snow flakes. It was such a beautiful modern take on detailing as lace didn’t suit me and I didn’t love the sequin look but still wanted something. And the gorgeous sparkle underlay that gave the dress some sparkle and was the perfect transition in to the evening reception, it caught the light perfectly without being too over the top.
How do you feel wearing the gown?
I felt like myself which was the most important thing for me. It is harder being a younger bride and finding a dress that doesn’t make you look like a young girl playing dress up or like I’m trying to look too mature. This dress suited me right now and I didn’t feel like I was trying to look like someone else.
Did it fulfill your wedding dress vision?
I actually didn’t have a specific look or dress in mind when I started dress shopping which was fun as I got to try on all different styles but it was so hard to choose. I had 7 bridal appointments before I finally made the decision. My custom Sage by Le Lee was the perfect balance of elegance with a bit of fun and personality, I didn’t feel like it aged me up or down but just suited me perfectly and was gorgeous against the backdrop of the venue and against Zoe’s dress.
Can you share any memorable moments related to the dress on your wedding day?
Having my mum get me dresses before my first look with my Nanna, bridal party and dad was so special. So many tears were shed, it was such an emotional time. My dad did not see the dress or know anything about it before the day and he was blown away, he said he wished he had said yes to seeing it as he was so overwhelmed during the reveal.
Is there anything you'd like to share about your experience with our brand and the wedding dress?
The designer was so open to customising the dress to meet my vision and did it perfectly. It is such a gamble saying yes to a dress you haven’t seen and can’t try on but I trusted Le Lee to meet my vision and they did it perfectly.
